1. ​​Government announces updated arrangement under Government's COVID-19 Vaccination Programme

The Government announced that, starting from January 16, all free vaccination will no longer be offered to non-Hong Kong residents under the Government's COVID-19 Vaccination Programme (Government Vaccination Programme). Non-Hong Kong residents in need may receive COVID-19 vaccination at their own cost via private healthcare organisations providing vaccination services.

2. Government clarifies that young children aged under three must present nucleic acid test result for entry into the Mainland

Regarding whether young children aged under three are required to present a negative result proof of a nucleic acid test when travelling across Hong Kong and the Mainland, a Government spokesman gave the response.
Under the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council, all persons entering the Mainland from Hong Kong must possess a negative result of a COVID-19 nucleic acid test conducted within 48 hours prior to the journey. Under the relevant nucleic acid testing requirement for entering the Mainland, there is no specified exemption for any group of persons, including young children aged under three. Therefore, for young children aged under three, they are also required to possess a negative result proof of a nucleic acid test if they intend to travel northbound for entering the Mainland.

3. Government adjusts evaluation criteria for COVID-19 nucleic acid test results

The Government announced that the evaluation criteria for COVID-19 nucleic acid test results has been adjusted with effect from January 16. Test results issued from that day with a Ct value of 35 or above would be regarded as negative for purposes other than clinical management.

4. Termination of designated taxi fleet services arranged by Government for people contracted with COVID-19

​Following the relaxation of different anti-epidemic measures, the designated taxi fleet (designated fleet) set up by the Government and the taxi industry has ceased to operate from January 14 (Saturday).

5. Response to media enquiries about patients reselling COVID-19 oral drugs illegally

A Government spokesman reminded members of the public that they should take the COVID-19 oral drugs according to the doctor's instructions and complete the entire course of treatment if they are prescribed with relevant medications after consultation. It is an offence to give or resell the prescribed drugs to others.

6. Supply of medicine containing paracetamol and COVID-19 oral drugs

A Government spokesman said that the supply of medicine containing paracetamol in Hong Kong remains stable. The public need not stockpile the relevant medicine. In addition, it is an offence to sell or resell COVID-19 oral drugs, including supply without payment.
