1. Government rolls out new measures to enhance community testing services

The Government announced that a series of enhancement measures have been rolled out progressively in a bid to provide ample, high-quality, speedy, accessible and affordable community testing services and further assist members of the public to undergo nucleic acid tests.

2. FEHD reminds operators, staff and customers of catering premises and scheduled premises to observe latest social distancing measures

A spokesman for the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) said that the Government has earlier announced the relaxation of certain social distancing measures, and the latest specifications and directions in relation to catering premises and scheduled premises under the Prevention and Control of Disease (Requirements and Directions) (Business and Premises) Regulation (Cap. 599F) has come into effect from October 6 to October 19. The spokesman appeals to operators of catering premises and scheduled premises to observe the relevant arrangements and strictly comply with various requirements and directions under Cap. 599F and other relevant anti-epidemic regulations at all times. Customers patronising catering premises are also required to comply with the various anti-epidemic regulations and restrictions.

3. Government provides clinical assessment for members of public who hold Medical Exemption Certificates with suspected problems

The Government announced further facilitation measures to assist individuals who hold a COVID-19 Vaccination Medical Exemption Certificate suspected to be issued not in compliance with guidelines by a doctor suspected to have violated the law, for obtaining appropriate clinical assessment on whether they are suitable for receiving vaccination depending on their needs.

4. 2022/23 seasonal influenza vaccination programmes to start on October 6

With the launch of the Government Vaccination Programme (GVP) and Vaccination Subsidy Scheme (VSS) 2022/23 on October 6, the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health (DH) appealed to members of the public to receive free seasonal influenza vaccination (SIV) to better protect themselves in the coming winter influenza season.
The spokesman stressed that the COVID-19 vaccine can be co-administered with, or separated from, SIV. If people wish to space out COVID-19 vaccine with nasal spray live attenuated vaccine, an interval of 14 days is sufficient.

5. Hospital Authority adjusts designated clinic and general out-patient clinic services

The Hospital Authority (HA) announced that the HA designated clinic for COVID-19 confirmed cases (designated clinic) located at Central Kowloon Health Centre ceased operation on October 6 and resume general out-patient clinic (GOPC) service on October 7. GOPCs resumed some services which were partially suspended earlier, including the Sunday and public holiday and the evening clinic services, starting from October 7.

6. Government adjusts quarantine arrangements for air crew

In view of the latest developments of the epidemic situation, the Government adjusted the quarantine arrangements for air crew which came into effect on October 4.
