The Government sets up 16 Private Clinic COVID-19 Vaccination Stations across Hong Kong to provide more COVID-19 vaccination venues with greater convenience for the public. Members of the public can make reservations for vaccination services for free through the booking system on the designated website of the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme (booking.covidvaccine.gov.hk).

The Secretary for the Civil Service, Mrs Ingrid Yeung, said that it is important to have members and organisations of local communities to promote COVID-19 vaccination actively. In response to the latest epidemic development and the continual surge in confirmed cases, the Hospital Authority (HA) has activated the Phase Three Bed Mobilisation Plan so as to reserve more beds and mobilise more manpower to manage patients confirmed with COVID-19 infection. In order to focus resources on anti-epidemic works, public hospitals need to curtail some non-emergency services, including some elective surgeries, day and outpatient services have already been impacted, amid some patient appointments have to be rescheduled.

A spokesman for the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) said that the Government the gazettal under the Prevention and Control of Disease (Requirements and Directions)(Business and Premises) Regulation, which require customers participating in a banquet activity to undergo a rapid antigen test (RAT) for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) conducted within the preceding 24 hours and present the negative result before they are allowed to enter the catering premises. The testing requirements applicable to staff of catering premises are extended to staff of scheduled premises (including commercial bathhouse, place of public entertainment, swimming pool and market, etc.): all staff of scheduled premises are required to undergo a RAT every three days before entering the premises. The spokesman reminded relevant operators, staff and patrons to observe and comply with the new requirement as well as other applicable regulations and restrictions.

5. Compulsory testing for staff members of RCHEs, RCHDs and nursing homes
The Government announced the details of the compulsory testing for staff members of residential care homes for the elderly (RCHEs), residential care homes for persons with disabilities (RCHDs) and nursing homes.
