1. Government to offer more channels to facilitate COVID-19 vaccination of elderly and children

Starting from August 15, the Community Vaccination Centre (CVC) at MTR Tsing Yi Station and the Children Community Vaccination Centre (CCVC) at Hong Kong Children's Hospital would concurrently provide vaccination service with the Sinovac and BioNTech vaccines. Members of the public can make online reservations via the designated website of the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme from 9am August 12.

2. Enhancing efficiency of Home Vaccination Service for COVID-19 vaccination of elderly

To further enhance service efficiency for achieving the objective of administering the appropriate number of COVID-19 vaccine doses for elderly persons, the Government commissions 13 medical organisations to continue to provide a door-to-door vaccination service for elderly persons and people with special needs who have registered for the Home Vaccination Service across Hong Kong starting from August 15.

3. Government announces adjustments to quarantine arrangements for inbound persons

After reviewing the latest data, the Government announced enhanced isolation and quarantine arrangements for inbound persons. The testing arrangements are correspondingly adjusted.

4. Government announces enhanced Vaccine Pass function

The Government announced the addition of the Red Code and Amber Code into the Vaccine Pass to differentiate persons with higher risk of infection. Starting from August 9, confirmed cases are categorised as persons with a Red Code, and inbound persons from overseas places or Taiwan are categorised as persons with an Amber Code. Their Vaccine Pass QR codes will be displayed in red or amber accordingly. Persons-in-charge of premises should deny entry of relevant persons to relevant premises in accordance with relevant rules.

5. Implementation arrangement of Red and Amber Codes

The Government reminded persons-in-charge or managers of premises who are required to use the QR Code Verification Scanner that they must have their scanners updated to version 4.4.0 or above and connected to the Internet. This is to ensure that checking of the Vaccine Pass of customers or visitors can be performed accurately to comply with the Government's newly introduced Red and Amber Codes arrangement.

6. Government extends social distancing measures

The Government announced the gazettal of the extension of social distancing measures in accordance with the public health emergency regulations under the Prevention and Control of Disease Ordinance. The measures are effective from August 11 to August 24.
